Welcome to Healing Our Kindred Spirits — created and hosted by Donna Gaudette. This soulful podcast weaves together storytelling, intuitive wisdom, and heart-centered reflections for those navigating life’s transitions, spiritual awakenings, and the deeper questions of being human.
Through authentic conversations and personal insights, I hold space for the sensitive, the seekers, and the resilient souls who are ready to feel seen, heard, and supported on their journey.
Each episode is an invitation to slow down, reflect, and reconnect — with yourself, with your spirit, and with the shared threads that bind us all. Whether you’re here to find comfort, connection, explore spirituality, or simply feel less alone, you are in the right place.
Be sure to look for journal prompts for each episode as well as an original guided meditation that further support you.
Because here, you are never too much — and you are always, ALWAYS enough.

Healing Our Kindred Spirits
Holiday Stories That Heal Us
What if your favorite holiday movies were really maps for healing, tucked inside snow and song? We open the season with an invitation to slow down and listen for the quiet lessons woven into stories we already love. Instead of film reviews, we explore the heartwork hidden in classics like It’s a Wonderful Life, A Christmas Carol, Yes, Virginia, There Is a Santa Claus, The Polar Express, Miracle on 34th Street, and The Year Without a Santa Claus—drawing out the themes of self-worth, compassion, belief, and hope that help us move through December with more grace.
Together we look at George Bailey’s reminder that worth is measured by love and presence, not titles or things. We sit with Scrooge’s thaw from isolation to empathy and consider how to make amends, set kinder boundaries, and choose presence over performance. We hold space for childlike wonder as Virginia’s letter and The Polar Express ask us to believe in what we cannot touch: courage, belonging, and the bell that rings only for those who listen. We revisit Miracle on 34th Street to explore how communities affirm belief through action, and we take warmth from The Year Without a Santa Claus, trusting that kindness can melt even a weary season.
This series rolls out as short daily episodes leading into Christmas week, paired with an original guided meditation to ground your heart. If the holidays feel both bright and heavy, you’re not alone. Come for the nostalgia, stay for the gentle practices that help you breathe, reconnect, and remember that you are never too much and always enough. Subscribe, share with a friend who needs some light, and tell us: which story is calling you back this year?

Welcome back, kindred spirits. As the lights twinkle a little brighter and the ear feels just a little more sacred, I can't help but reflect on the stories that have shaped so many of our holiday seasons. You know, the ones that make us pause, smile, cry, and remember what really matters. Many of us celebrate the season different ways, and many have traditions, and many are creating new traditions and experiences. What doesn't change is that we all feel at one point or another connected to something we have watched either together or by ourselves that evokes feelings within us. Not just at the holidays, but all year through. Over the next few days, I'm doing something special here in healing our kindred spirits. We're going to revisit some of the most beloved Christmas movies of all times, but not in the way you expect. These are not film reviews or nostalgic trips down memory lane. Well, maybe a little. But we're going to look deeper. We're going to explore the heart, the soul, and the timeless lessons tucked within each story. If anything, maybe it'll serve as a gentle reminder to be kinder to ourselves and to others. Three new episodes will be released each day for four or two days, starting on Sunday, December 21st, leading us into Christmas week. And I will also be releasing a very special original guided meditation to help us this holiday season and to remind us of the reason that we gather, we remember, we celebrate. Think of it as a little gift for your heart, moments of reflection wrapped in stories that we already love. You'll hear about It's a Wonderful Life and how George Bailey's journey reminds us that our worth can't be measured by what we own or accomplish, but by how we love and how we show up for others. We'll walk alongside Ebenezer Scrooge and the Christmas Carol, not just to witness his transformation, but to reflect on what it means to awaken to our own capacity for compassion and second chances. We'll revisit Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus and talk about what happens when faith meets innocence, when belief becomes a bridge between the seen and unseen. And we can't forget the Polar Expresso, that beautiful story of believing even when you can't see. Because sometimes the most real things in this world are the ones we cannot touch. Then, of course, there's Miracle on 34th Street, a story about hope, doubt, the courage to believe in magic again, even as adults. And of course, yeah without a Santa Claus, a gentle reminder that even when the world feels heavy and weary and uncertain, warmth and kindness can melt even the coldest hearts. So each of these films holds a message for us, not just for the holidays, but for the way we live, the way we heal, and the way we love. So as we move full speed ahead into the season with all its joy and chaos and even emotion, I invite you to slow down with me for a few minutes each day. Let's unwrap the lessons one story at a time. Let's rediscover wonder. Let's remember that even the simplest stories can steer something deep within us, something sacred, and even something kindred. So stay tuned because over the next few days we'll step into a world of hope, forgiveness, belief, and magic. A kind that lives not just in the movies, but in you and I. I hope you will join us for these minimal 15 to 20 minute episodes that will hopefully, hopefully stir something nostalgic within you and maybe give you a little hope, peace, and gratitude for the season and each other, and of course the year ahead. From my heart to yours, I wish you all the best for a magical holiday season in whichever way you choose to celebrate or not celebrate. And as always, when life gets busy and hectic, remember you are never too much, and you are always, always enough. Merry Christmas, happy holidays, and happy Hanukkah.
